Development Of RO Water Treatment System

The development of RO membranes has roughly gone through three stages. The commonly used RO membrane materials in my country mainly include cellulose acetate membrane (CA membrane), aromatic polyamide membrane (PA membrane) and chitosan membrane (CS membrane). CA film is the earliest film material, which is odorless, tasteless, non-toxic, stable to light, and has strong hygroscopicity. However, CA film has poor chemical stability, thermal stability and compactness, and is easy to degrade. PA membrane is the most commonly used RO membrane in the industry. It has the advantages of physical and chemical stability, strong alkali resistance, oil ester, organic solvent resistance, and good mechanical strength. However, PA membrane is charged, and particles in water are easily deposited on the membrane surface, resulting in membrane pollution. , shorten the service life. CS membrane is a natural polymer membrane material, non-toxic, free of side effects, antibacterial, and has a strong ability to remove alkaline earth metal ions. It is a better RO membrane for hard water softening. It is a very potential membrane material. great attention.
Recent developments in RO membranes include inorganic membranes, hybrid membranes, and new organic membranes. Theoretically, inorganic membranes have high ion interception performance, but high cost and harsh preparation conditions are not conducive to industrial application; hybrid membranes combine the advantages of organic materials and inorganic materials, and have good performance in improving membrane separation performance and anti-pollution. The application prospect has great development potential, and further theoretical research is needed; the preparation of new organic membranes is still in the primary stage, the main purpose is to improve the membrane flux and chemical stability, and no breakthrough has been achieved yet.
