Product Overview

What Is an Automatic Polymer Preparation System?

An automatic polymer preparation system is used to prepare polymer solutions such as PAM and other commonly used water-treatment polymer flocculants.

Instead of manually adding polymer and water into a mixing tank, the LK-JYJ system automatically controls polymer feeding, water proportioning, mixing, maturation, storage and metering dosing.

The purpose is to provide a more stable and uniform polymer solution for downstream wastewater treatment processes.

Why Use an Automatic Polymer Preparation System?

Manual polymer preparation may lead to unstable concentration, insufficient dissolution, polymer agglomeration and inconsistent dosing. A controlled preparation system helps standardize polymer and water addition and reduce operator dependence.

  • More stable polymer concentration

  • More uniform polymer dissolution

  • Reduced manual preparation work

  • Continuous polymer solution supply

  • Automatic dosing control

  • Lower risk of polymer agglomeration

  • Better compatibility with continuous wastewater treatment processes

  • Easier integration with DAF, sludge dewatering and flocculation systems

How the LK-JYJ Polymer Dosing System Works

Polymer Feeding

Polymer is introduced into the preparation system through the feeding unit. The feeding rate can be adjusted according to the required solution concentration and preparation capacity.

Water Proportioning

Water enters the system according to the preset preparation ratio. The polymer feeding rate and water supply are coordinated to maintain the required polymer concentration. Typical preparation concentration is 0.1%-0.5%.

Mixing and Dissolution

Polymer and water enter the mixing section where the polymer is dispersed and dissolved. Proper initial mixing helps reduce agglomeration and improves contact between polymer particles and water.

Polymer Maturation

After initial mixing, the polymer solution is retained for further maturation. This stage allows the polymer chains to hydrate and develop before the solution is used for treatment.

Storage and Dosing

The prepared polymer solution enters the storage section. The integrated metering pump then delivers the polymer solution to the required dosing point according to process demand.

Three-Stage Polymer Preparation Process

Mixing Chamber

Polymer and water are introduced and mixed to complete initial dispersion and hydration. The objective is to obtain a uniform primary polymer solution and reduce undissolved polymer agglomerates.

Maturation Chamber

The polymer solution remains in the maturation section for sufficient hydration and activation. Gentle mixing is used to maintain solution uniformity while avoiding unnecessary shear on the polymer.

Storage & Dosing Chamber

The prepared polymer solution enters the final storage section before being delivered by the dosing pump. The level-controlled system allows preparation and dosing to operate automatically according to solution demand.

Compatible Polymer Types

The LK-JYJ system can be configured for commonly used polymer flocculants in water and wastewater treatment.

Anionic Polymer / APAM

Often used in coagulation, sedimentation, mineral processing and industrial wastewater treatment.

Cationic Polymer / CPAM

Commonly used in sludge conditioning and sludge dewatering applications.

Nonionic Polymer / NPAM

Can be used for specific industrial wastewater and solid-liquid separation processes.

The required preparation concentration and maturation time should be selected according to polymer characteristics and actual treatment requirements.

Applications

Sludge Dewatering

Polymer preparation before screw press, belt filter press, filter press and centrifuge. Stable polymer preparation helps improve sludge flocculation before mechanical dewatering.

Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF)

Polymer can be dosed before or inside a DAF process to promote floc formation and improve solid-liquid separation.

Coagulation and Flocculation

Suitable for polymer-assisted coagulation and flocculation in municipal wastewater, industrial wastewater, drinking water, chemical, food, paper, textile and mining wastewater.

Sedimentation and Clarification

Polymer may be used as a coagulant aid to improve suspended-solid aggregation and sedimentation performance.

Typical Industries

  • Municipal Wastewater Treatment Plants
  • Industrial Wastewater Treatment
  • Sludge Treatment Systems
  • DAF Systems
  • Mining & Mineral Processing
  • Paper & Pulp Industry

SS304 or SS316L - Which Material Should You Choose?

SS304

Suitable for many conventional municipal and industrial wastewater treatment applications.

SS316L

Can be selected where higher corrosion resistance is required or where the chemical environment is more demanding.

The final material should be confirmed according to wastewater characteristics, polymer type, other chemicals present in the system, chloride concentration, installation environment and project specifications.

How to Select the Right Model

The preparation capacity should not be selected only according to wastewater treatment flow. A proper selection normally considers polymer type, polymer consumption, preparation concentration, required polymer solution flow, operating hours and downstream equipment.

  • Polymer type
  • Dry polymer consumption (kg/h or kg/day)
  • Preparation concentration (%)
  • Required polymer solution flow (L/h)
  • Daily operating hours
  • Downstream equipment: DAF / screw press / belt filter press / clarifier / filter press

Example of Polymer Preparation Capacity Calculation

Example: Dry polymer consumption = 1 kg/h; preparation concentration = 0.2%.

A 0.2% polymer solution contains approximately 2 kg dry polymer per 1000 L solution.

Required solution flow ≈ 500 L/h.

In this case, LK-JYJ500 may be considered as a preliminary model. Final selection should still consider operating conditions, design margin and actual polymer characteristics.
